The NBC Nightly News was the top evening news broadcast for the week of March 14 -- but World News Tonight ranked #1 in the 25-54 demo for the third consecutive week. The total viewer gap between WNT and NN "is a whopping 98% smaller than a year ago," ABC's release says. Here are the raw numbers for total viewers and the demo:

NBC: 9,680,000 / 2.6/10

ABC: 9,660,000 / 2.7/10

CBS: 7,610,000 / 2.0/8

"Due to the slow news cycle, all three network evening newscasts are down season-to-date compared to last season, although the NBC newscast has declined the least," NBC's press release says.
