Rebecca Jarvis Joins CBS News
As TVNewser first reported last October, Rebecca Jarvis has joined CBS News and today was named newsreader for the Saturday edition of “The Early Show.” A CNBC alum, Jarvis will also be the business and economics correspondent for CBS News. The appointment is effective today after Jarvis sat out a six-month non-compete.
“Rebecca does an outstanding job reporting on critical business and consumer affairs and we are delighted that she is joining CBS News,” said CBS News and Sports president Sean McManus.
Jarvis is the latest high-profile hire at CBS News. CNN’s Betty Nguyen joined earlier this month as anchor of “CBS Morning News” and a correspondent for “The Early Show.” In January, Erica Hill left CNN for a permanent gig at CBS News where she continues as anchor of the Saturday edition of “The Early Show” as well as newsreader on the weekday edition.
