A telling line from in a New York Post story about Rex Ryan reaming out his team: “During Ryan’s 20-minute press conference, there was not a single question about the game.”

Having sat in any number of mind-numbingly boring press conferences, I can tell you that coaches abhor talking about their plans, their opponent, or anything else pertaining to the upcoming game beyond extremely vagaries. They’d rather, however, discuss their sport than discipline problems within a team.

But Rex, this is your freaking fault. You can’t have it both ways.

Just suspend him.
