Roger Ailes Targets Early-To-Mid 2007 For Fox Biz Channel Launch

Roger Ailes is hoping to launch the Fox Business Channel in early-to-mid 2007, according to a UBS analyst report. Aryeh Bourkoff wrote the following in a report to clients today:

“Mr. Ailes noted an early-to-mid calendar 2007 target for the launch of a Fox Business Channel. Given his experience running CNBC in the 1990′s, Mr. Ailes sees opportunity for a competitor to CNBC and for an Internet channel. He does not expect the company to leverage Fox News contract negotiations to support a Fox Business launch (i.e., offer operators discounts on Fox News in exchange for carriage) as he believes that the Fox Business content will stand on its own.”
