Rupert Murdoch Puts Roger Ailes In Charge Of The Fox Television Stations Group

“Two weeks of speculation came true Monday with the announcement that Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes will add to his plate the post of chairman of the Fox Television Stations group, a position that also will give him oversight of Twentieth Television, producer of first-run syndicated programming and distributor of off-network programming,” TV Week reports.

> Broadcasting & Cable: “Ailes’ new portfolio includes the 25 Fox stations, nine UPN affiliates, one indepent station, and Twentieth Television, producer of first-run syndicated programming and distributor of off-network programming.”

> Press release:Jack Abernethy, Chief Executive Officer of Fox Television Stations, will report to Mr. Ailes, who will in turn report to News Corporation’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Rupert Murdoch, and the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Peter Chernin.
