Sarah Palin takes aim at the media during Iowa speech

Palin_9.16.jpgDuring a speech in Iowa tonight, Sarah Palin took aim at the media imploring the crowd at the Reagan Dinner in Des Moines, “to hold the press accountable when you know that they’re making things up and telling untruths.”

Palin explained why she is “hot on this lame stream media issue.”

“How dare anyone disrespect our troops’ sacrifice by claiming the right to print and to say anything without a corresponding responsibility to truth.”

Political analysts watched tonight’s speech, which was carried briefly on CNN, searching for clues that Palin is looking beyond the midterms to her own run at national office in 2012.

As for the media, Palin singled out the use of anonymous sources:

In this kind of strange unaccountable day of anyone and everyone getting to claim that they are a journalist, you have to ask yourself who are they really when the media uses anonymous sources to cowardly attack someone, their record, their intentions. First remember that these sources, if they ever even really exist, that they are cowards. Usually in some self-preservation mode.

On Monday, Palin will be in Los Angeles where she will be in the audience of “Dancing with the Stars” watching daughter Bristol.
