What It Takes To Be a TV News Reporter
And best of all you can do it from the beach, because it's an online course. The instructor is Emmy Award winning reporter Mark Joyella. I used to work with the guy. He knows his stuff. After four weeks, you'll know exactly how to report on any story, from breaking news to features. Tuesday May 20, 2008
Technical Difficulties... Please Stand ByHey news fans, you may have noticed the site has been slow (or even nonexistent) on your browser the last couple of days. We're troubleshooting some things on this end, but it appears it happens late in the afternoon when web traffic is at its highest. We hear you. We've got a wrench in one hand, and our remote in the other. — The TVNewsers p.s. If you haven't already, sign up for the Daily TVNewser Feed which comes to your inbox after 4pmET each weekday. The entry form is at the top of the blog. Thursday Apr 17, 2008

Are You a Fearless Media Reporter? Join the Club
FishbowlNY is looking for a New York Media Blogger (check out the job listing here). If you "know your Diller from your Dolan, agonize over how newspapers keep trying and failing to woo readers, and smirk every time a 'green' issue winds up on non-recyclable paper, then we want you delivering breaking industry news, putting media players in their place, and telling our highly engaged readership of media professionals everything they should know about the back-end deals, inside words, and on-the-ground gossip that make up the New York media universe." Want to come join the team? Apply here. Thursday Mar 13, 2008
The TVNewser RedesignOkay newsies, this is your blog, we just blog it. We are kicking around the idea of a redesign and more, but more on the more later. For now, click here to log on to our Flickr page where you can check out a couple of proposed designs and comment on them, right there. Thursday Feb 21, 2008
Come Join The Circus
Check out the Web page here for more information. Also, the team has put together the mediabistro circus blog. Tell your boss this is the one Spring conference to attend... Friday Feb 01, 2008
Where's the Mute Button? You've emailed, and the mediabistro.com sales team has listened. You may have noticed the NYFA/NBC News ad that auto-plays, sound and all, when you come to TVNewser. As one reader wrote to us, "...the sound is jarring and getting me in trouble at work." Well, we don't want that. So over the weekend the ad will be amended to include a user-generated play button. This should be resolved early next week. Wednesday Nov 28, 2007
TVNewser's New AdditionYou'll be seeing an additional byline on the blog. We've hired Steve Krakauer as the associate editor of TVNewser. Steve joins mediabistro.com from spending a year in the NBC Page Program (He's very Kenneth from 30 Rock. Okay, not really.) Before donning the blue blazer, Steve was as an intern and production assistant at Fox News Channel. The 2006 Syracuse grad already has a lot on his plate; he'll be attending a CNBC event tonight, before catching the CNN/YouTube GOP debate. Thursday Nov 08, 2007
