So What Happened with that Tiger Woods Camera Shot?

woods_2-22.jpg

As we noted Friday, roughly the final third of Tiger Woodsheavily covered statement was captured only by the secondary, cut-away camera positioned beside Woods.

CBS Sports was the pool for the statement which was carried live on at least 18 television networks and streamed on countless Websites.

A CBS Sports spokesperson tells TVNewser a power source failure mid-statement knocked out the head-on camera. When the shot went to black — the audio was fine throughout — the networks quickly switched to the cut-away. We also hear that when the power failed, it short-circuited the camera, leaving just the side shot for the final 5 minutes of Woods’ apology.
