Sotomayor Announcement Covered on Every News Network

As former TVNewser editor Brian Stelter tweeted this morning: “The summer’s first hit reality show, ‘Battle for the Supreme Court,’ is premiering on CNN, Fox and MSNBC simultaneously.” President Barack Obama named Sonia Sotomayor his Supreme Court pick to replace Justice Souter in a packed East Room speech at 10:15amET, and began what will be extensive coverage on the cablers today and beyond. VP Joe Biden and Sotomayor stood with the President, and Sotomayor spoke after. Besides the broadcast networks, all the cablers took the speech as well — including HLN, CNBC, FBN and Bloomberg.
