SOTU: FNC’s Lowest-Rated Speech Since ’01

On Tuesday, Fox News Channel recorded its lowest ratings for a State of the Union since President Bush’s first address in 2001, a ratings analysis shows.

FNC averaged 4,560,000 viewers this year, down from 6.4 million in 2006, 5.9 million in 2005, 5.1 million in 2004, 5.8 million in 2003, and 5 million in 2002. In 2001, FNC averaged 2.2 million.

Note: 8:22am: Because 2001 was Bush’s first year in office, the speech was called “Address to the Nation,” not a SOTU.
