South Carolina Primary Cable News Ratings
We’ve got the final cable news numbers in from Saturday night’s coverage of the South Carolina primary. With the polls closing at 7pm, here are the averages from 7-10pm:
- Fox News: 2.964m / 799K
- CNN: 1.252m / 426K
- MSNBC: 1.071m / 254K
Each of the three networks peaked in different hours. Fox News’s best hour was at 9pm when it drew 3.12 million Total Viewers and 880,000 A25-54 viewers. CNN’s best was at 7pm with 1.41m / 487,000. And MSNBC’s best was at 8pm, when it came in second in Total Viewers to Fox News with 1.12m / 286,000.
And just to give you a sense of how this compares to broadcast TV ratings from Saturday night. The #1 show was a repeat of Betty White’s 90th Birthday special on NBC averaging 4.9 million viewers from 8-9:30pm.
