Stephanopoulos Tops Sunday Show Ratings in Week of ‘GMA’ Offer
George Stephanopoulos is not just in the news for his “GMA” offer this week.
For the first time since August, ABC’s “This Week,” the Sunday public affairs program he hosts, topped the Sunday show ratings in Total Viewers.
Boosted by a strong lead-in from “Sunday Morning,” CBS’ “Face the Nation” was first in the 25-54 demographic followed by ABC, leaving NBC’s “Meet the Press” third in the demo.
Prior to the early-August’s first place finish, the last time “This Week” had beaten “MTP” in Total Viewers and 25-54 was June of 1999.
Both ABC and NBC were down week-to-week over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. “Fox News Sunday” was up.
Here’s the ratings breakdown for Sunday:
| Network | Program | Total Viewers |
A25-54 |
|---|---|---|---|
| ABC | “This Week” | 2.77M | 790K |
| NBC | “Meet the Press” | 2.67M | 750M |
| CBS | “Face the Nation” | 2.60M | 820K |
| FOX | “Fox News Sunday” | 1.17M | 430K |
