Steve Chaggaris, political director of CBS News during the 2008 elections, is rejoining CBS News in the newly-created position of Executive Editor for CBSNews.com in Washington.

Nancy Lane, executive producer for CBSNews.com, says Chaggaris will be responsible for content strategy “across all beats from Washington, with specific emphasis on the management of political content for CBSNews.com.”

Chaggaris joins CBSNews.com from Yahoo! News where he was Executive Producer overseeing special political projects. In between his last stint at CBS News and the Yahoo! job, Chaggaris worked at TBD.com and taught political reporting at Georgetown.
