Stu Schwartz, Father of CNN’s Dana Bash, Retires from ABC News

After 41 years at ABC news, senior broadcast producer Stu Schwartz is retiring from the network. This afternoon his friends at “Good Morning America” threw him a retirement party at ABC’s Times Square Studios.

Former ABCer, now EP of the CBS Evening News Rick Kaplan and The Documentary Group’s Tom Yellin, and dozens of friends and colleagues from throughout the years.

Schwartz’s daughter, CNN correspondent Dana Bash and her husband, CNN anchor John King were also there.

A video tribute included Chris Cuomo describing moments throughout Schwartz’s career then cut to a CNN Breaking news report – anchored by Dana Bash with John King getting in on the act.
