This has been a strong week for corporate synergy. NBCUniversal has been going all-out to promote the upcoming Universal movie “The Lorax” on shows like “The Voice” and “Today,” and today ABC announced some synergy of its own tied into the drama series “Revenge.”

“Revenge” is about betrayal and crime among rich people in the Hamptons–you may have seen some ads for it on Sunday’s Oscars telecast. ABC News is stepping in to take over “Revenge”‘s Wednesday timeslot for two weeks in March with the specials “Revenge for Real: Murder in the Hamptons.”

The specials follow Cynthia McFadden investigating… betrayal and crime among rich people in the Hamptons, although these stories are non-fiction. With “Revenge” on hiatus for a couple of weeks after tonight’s episode, ABC wanted to have some fresh content on instead of reruns, and the ABC News specials seemed to fit the bill.

“Revenge For Real” airs on ABC March 7 and 14 at 10 PM.
