The day-long coverage of the death of Whitney Houston will culminate on CBS tonight with the Grammy awards where there will be a simple tribute to Houston who died yesterday in her room at the Beverly Hilton hotel. The Grammy’s opened with Bruce Springsteen singing his new single, “We Take Care of Our Own.” Host LL Cool J then opened the show with a prayer, and a video tribute of Houston singing “I Will Always Love You” from an earlier Grammy awards ceremony.
Just before the Grammy’s, on “60 Minutes” Anderson Cooper led off his interview with singer Adele with the news of Houston’s death. Meanwhile on NBC, “Dateline” was devoting an hour to Houston and on CNN, Don Lemon, who anchored breaking coverage last night from Atlanta, anchored an hour-long special from Los Angeles which included a live news conference from the LA County chief coroner.
Fox News’s “Geraldo At Large” will dedicate much of his show tonight to coverage of Houston’s death.
OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced tonight it will air “Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview” Thursday at 9pmET/PT. The special will include Houston’s final in-depth interview, which first aired on Winfrey’s daytime show in September, 2009.
