Erin Burnett Gives Birth to Baby Boy

EBurnettWeddingIt’s an 8-pound, 10-ounce bundle of blue for CNN’s Erin Burnett and  husband David Rubulotta.

“Dave and I welcomed a healthy, happy baby boy at 9:47 p.m. Friday November 29th,” the ‘Outfront’ anchor tells People magazine, which broke the news. “Seeing him for the first time was the most awe-inspiring, joyful moment of our lives.”

There’s no word yet on the baby’s name. It’s the first child for the couple, who married in December of 2012. CNN confirmed Burnett’s pregnancy to TVNewser in June.

Erin Burnett Pregnant With First Child

As this TVNewser watched Erin Burnett anchoring last night, we noticed an unusually loosely-fitting ensemble that suggested she might be expecting.

We asked her spokesperson this morning if she was. A few hours later, after Burnett had time to inform her staff, CNN confirmed the news. This is the first child for the “Outfront” anchor and her husband David Rubulotta.The baby is due in November.

The news comes six months after the couple tied the knot in New York.

Last night CNN feted its newest anchor, Erin Burnett, at Robert restaurant at The Museum of Arts and Design in Columbus Circle, just a few hundred feet from CNN’s NYC headquarters. Overlooking Columbus Circle and the southwest corner of Central Park, guests watched the city fade into night, while clips of Burnett preparing for her show played on a loop on TV sets spread throughout the space.

Just after 7:30 PM, CNN/U.S. executive VP Ken Jautz and CNN managing editor Mark Whitaker made some brief remarks. Jautz commented that Burnett is extremely passionate about news, and that anyone expecting a curt reply when asking her what she is working on is in for a long conversation.

Burnett then addressed the crowd and thanked them for their support. Her manager John Ferriter was in attendance, as was her fiancee David Rubulotta. Jautz and Whitaker got shout-outs, as did CNN Worldwide president Jim Walton and CNN ad sales chief Greg D’alba, both of whom were working the room.
