Is he retiring? Highly unlikely. So why is he calling a pseudo press conference? We already know he’s not playing in the British Open due to injuries, so drawing people together for the added, unnecessary measure of repeating the same news seems oddly LeBronthian.

HBO is developing a new primetime reality series on famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach.
The six-episode series is set to debut in early 2012 and the cinÃ©ma-vÃ©ritÃ© series focuses on Roach, who owns and operates the famed Wildcard Boxing Club in Hollywood. Cameras will document Roach as he manages his personal life with his life inside the gym, all while fighting Parkinson’s disease. Read more
It’s a soggy mess in New York today, and CNBC is really hoping the sun comes out tomorrow because they’ve scheduled a live broadcast from the site of the U.S. Open at Bethpage, Long Island.
CNBC’s Sports Business Reporter, Darren Rovell hosts the special and will interview some of the power players in the game including PGA Commissioner Tim Finchem, golfer Kenny Perry and Tiger Woods‘ agent/senior VP of IMG, Mark Steinberg.
Also this morning, the Today show broadcast NBC Sports live coverage of the 8:06 tee-time, which included Woods.
