HBO Developing Freddie Roach Reality Series

HBO is developing a new primetime reality series on famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach.

On Freddie Roach will be directed by Emmy nominee Peter Berg and executive produced by Jim Lampley, Sarah Aubrey and Michael Price.

The six-episode series is set to debut in early 2012 and the cinéma-vérité series focuses on Roach, who owns and operates the famed Wildcard Boxing Club in Hollywood. Cameras will document Roach as he manages his personal life with his life inside the gym, all while fighting Parkinson’s disease. Read more

CNBC’s Live U.S. Open Special

It’s a soggy mess in New York today, and CNBC is really hoping the sun comes out tomorrow because they’ve scheduled a live broadcast from the site of the U.S. Open at Bethpage, Long Island.

CNBC’s Sports Business Reporter, Darren Rovell hosts the special and will interview some of the power players in the game including PGA Commissioner Tim Finchem, golfer Kenny Perry and Tiger Woods‘ agent/senior VP of IMG, Mark Steinberg.

Also this morning, the Today show broadcast NBC Sports live coverage of the 8:06 tee-time, which included Woods.

The CNBC special airs live tomorrow night at 8pmET.
