Howie Kurtz and Matt Lewis Make Up
FishbowlDC’s Betsy Rothstein caught up with Daily Beast’s Howard Kurtz and Daily Caller’s Matt Lewis after their on air confrontation on Kurtz’s “Reliable Sources” Sunday. As we reported, Kurtz and Lewis sparred over the White House interruption last Friday.
Kurtz argued that Daily Caller reporter Neil Munro, “had no business interrupting the president.” Lewis disagreed: “The press corps should be a little less deferential to authority. He did the right thing.” Kurtz then accused Lewis of taking that line to “defend your guy,” Lewis.
Today, FBDC reports there’s no love lost. “And if it helps us mend fences,” says Lewis, “[Kurtz] is welcome to stop by the Daily Caller for a beer summit, anytime!”
Kurtz adds, “I will absolutely have Matt Lewis back many times. He’s a smart guy, a good guest and is welcome to disagree with me anytime.”
