Scott Matthews jumps from CNN to CNBC

Nik Deogun, who took over as CNBC SVP on the departure of Jeremy Pink earlier this month, has announced his new senior leadership team. Among them, Scott Matthews who is leaving his post at CNN Atlanta and joining CNBC as Vice President of News Specials. Matthews will oversee special programming for Business Day and manage the new investigative unit, newsroom documentaries and live specials

Matthews joined CNN in January 2008 as director of programming. Since 2009 he’s overseen CNN Productions and the investigations unit.

Other moves: Nick Dunn is upped to Managing Editor, Lacy O’Toole is named Director of News Coverage and Tyler Mathisen becomes Standards Editor.

Nick Dunn Upped at CNBC

dunn_12-17.jpgCNBC has named Nick Dunn as deputy managing editor, business news. It is a newly created position.

Dunn has been lead guest booker at CNBC, and now will coordinate and manage news coverage, including story development reporter assignments and specials planning.

He joined CNBC in September 1996 as a news associate on early morning programming, and later became senior producer of “Squawk Box.” In January 2006 he was named executive editor of booking.

Several guests brought their kids as escorts including Maureen Orth with son Luke Russert, FBN’s Liz Claman brought her daughter and FNC’s Brit Hume brought his granddaughter.
