Tammy Haddad Has Been Talking To ABC About The GMA Job “For Months”

TVNewser broke the news on Wednesday, and now the Philadelphia Inquirer follows up:

“Nothing official, but smart money says Washington-based über producer Tammy Haddad will be new boss of ABC’s Good Morning America.” Haddad “has been talking to ABC for months about replacing Ben Sherwood, according to ABC insiders.”

Her “MSNBC contract expired in January, sources say. She and her husband, World Bank honcho Ted Greenberg, and their two young children would definitely relocate to New York for the GMA plum, the sources say.”

> Also: FishBowlDC notes: “If Tammy takes the job, she would go toe-to-toe against Phil Griffin, the NBC News VP and executive-in-charge of the Today show. And she’d be doing so at a post-Couric time when Today may be more vulnerable than ever (and if anyone’s got the goods to bring them down, it’s Haddad). And remember: When Tammy became Hardball EP, whom did she replace? Yes, Phil Griffin.”
