The “Brassy and Boozy” Host of Today’s Fourth Hour

Karl Taro Greenfeld writes a lengthy profile of Today show co-host Kathie Lee Gifford, in which he dubs her, “The Craziest (and Sexiest) Woman on TV.”

“Both brassy and boozy, a cross between Mae West and Mrs. Robinson,” he writes of the fourth hour host.

And Gifford has some classic quotes in the piece. “But it’s not all six orgasms a day anymore,” she says. “I’m down to four. Okay, I’m down to two.”

Describing her style, she says, “We’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but we might be your glass of champagne or, in my case, Chardonnay.”

“I’m not in love with this article,” joked Gifford this morning as she and co-host Hoda Kotb discussed the story.
