Next Wednesday is October 31, and you know what that means: serious news anchors wearing wacky costumes!
ABC is already out promoting “Ghoul Morning America,” promising costumes that will top last year’s, live musical performances and a “guest that you will be talking about all day.”
NBC’s “Today” has also been promoting its Halloween episode in promos all week, and is holding a contest which will see three viewers with great costumes flown to New York to appear on next Wednesday’s show. “Today” is also promising a surprise celebrity guest.
This year’s Halloween specials will be the first since “GMA” surpassed “Today” in the ratings, so there is pressure to perform. Given how over-the-top “GMA” went last year, that pressure is likely even higher.
