> The two Ted Kennedy specials on broadcast TV last night did not perform very well in their timeslots. At 8pm, CBS’ Kennedy special came in fourth in the A18-49 demo with a 0.9 rating and finished third in Total Viewers with 4.6M. At 10pm ABC was third in the A18-49 demo with a 1.1 rating and drawing 4.0M Total Viewers for its Kennedy special.

> FishbowlDC reports the Kennedy family has set up a Twitter account to provide the public with details about the memorial plans for Sen. Kennedy.

> Last night on “Nightline,” ABC’s congressional correspondent Jonathan Karl recounted his personal interaction with Sen. Kennedy after Karl and his family survived a car accident: “The very first call I got from somebody was not part of my immediate family. It was a call from Ted Kennedy. And the minute that I heard that voice and — regardless of what he was saying, I remember smiling.”
