• Cable news just can’t get enough Donald Trump. After his grilling on CNN yesterday, Trump appeared on Fox News Channel’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.” The tone was much more collegial, even as Van Susteren pressed Trump on the “birther” issue. • CNN International is profiled by the Financial Times (subscription required): “By the time viewers turn on the television, they already know what’s going on,” says Mr Whitaker, CNN’s managing editor. “They are looking for, ‘OK, what’s next?’” His strategy: bolster international coverage across the entire network with a premium not just on breaking news but on analysis, investigations and features.”

• It will be a very NBC evening on CNN, as Donny Deutsch guest-hosts CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight” this evening. His lead guest? NBC “Today” anchor Matt Lauer. Deutsch is a regular on “Today,” particularly in the “Today’s Professional” segment that Lauer hosts. Deutsch is also a regular on MSNBC, and a former host on CNBC.
