Arizona State University will present NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams with its 2009 Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism this Wednesday. CBS "Evening News" anchor Katie Couric also won an award named for Cronkite this year.

FishbowlNY has the info on last night's "Heroes Gala" held at Gotham Hall in NYC by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).

NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams hosted the event, and according to Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer, who also attended and tweeted about the evening, he did well: "NBC's Brian Williams did a terrific job as MC tonight @IAVA event in Manhattan. Keep supporting this group."

ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper is apparently a character in Stephen King's new book, "Under the Dome." Chris Cuomo discussed it with King on yesterday's "GMA." Last evening, Tapper clarified that he is not actually half wolf.
