The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations for the 2010 Daytime Emmy Awards Wednesday.

While most of the awards focus on daytime soaps and syndicated fare like the courtroom shows, morning news programs do get their own category.

The 2010 nominees in “Outstanding Morning Program” are ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s Today Show and CNN American Morning.

Today also received two additional nominations, in “Outstanding Promotional Announcement-Episodic” and “Oustanding Original Song” for “Your Day is Today,” the music video of which is after the jump.

Also of note: the “Outstanding Morning Program” category was first presented three years ago, with GMA winning all three years.

And to CBS’ Early Show, MSNBC’s Morning Joe and Fox News’ Fox & Friends… there is always next year.
