Monday’s New York Times story about the Today/GMA battle is titled “A TV Duel at Sunrise.” “For decades now, ‘Today’ and ‘Good Morning America’ have gone at each other like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox,” Jacques Steinberg writes. He coaxed a statement out of Today EP Jim Bell: “The ‘Today’ show is still the gold standard in morning television, and despite all the noise, the competition still follows us.”
