Today’s Ted Turner post revolves around a stop at his old stomping ground at Time Warner.
Portfolio.com’s Jeff Bercovici writes about a trip he took to the building for an interview with Time magazine yesterday. One thing revealed was his original plan to put together an alternative to CNN, and turn Headline News conservative. “And when the time came that Fox News started, we were making so much money and doing so well that I said I’m not going to do it,” he said.
He also appeared last night on Lou Dobbs Tonight. “I was one of those folks fortunate enough to be on the first list of employees,” said Dobbs.
Dobbs brought up the pair’s disagreements. “You criticized me recently,” said Dobbs. “I did not!” Turner said. (You can judge for yourself.)
Later in the interview, as Turner wanted to stay on a topic, he relented, saying, “It’s your show not mine.”
“But you made it possible,” responded Dobbs.
