I guess we can overlook the fact that this Diet Pepsi commercial starring David Beckham and Sofia Vergara pretty much steals its inspiration directly from a scene in “Back to School,” i.e., when Rodney Dangerfield‘s driver (played by Burt Young) raises a sign next to the limo that reads “Bruce Springsteen,” which causes all the kids to abandon the long line at registration, allowing Rodney and his contingent to stroll right up. Adding the element of Twitter just makes it contemporary.
