Video: ESPN's Melrose Says Coaches Hope There's No Gays on Their Teams
Responding to the controversy surrounding Sean Avery‘s decision to come out in support of gay marriage, Outside the Lines discussed the issue of gay athletes in sports. During the roundtable discussion, former NHL coach and current ESPN hockey commentator Barry Melrose said coaches don’t even want to consider the possibility their players are gay. Why? Because from a coaching perspective it’d be a major distraction.
