Vinita Nair Filling in on NBC, MSNBC

Vinita Nairlast seen bidding farewell to ABC’s “World News Now” — is doing fill-in anchoring on MSNBC’s 5amET show “First Look” and its mirror-image network program, NBC’s “Early Today.” Insiders tells us Nair is doing some temporary freelance work for the network. Nair co-anchored ABC’s overnight show for more than two years, before departing in February.

Today was also the first day on the air for new MSNBC fulltime hire Craig Melvin. Melvin joins MSNBC from NBC’s WRC in Washington. Melvin anchored the 11amET hour this morning. Melvin will also contribute to NBC News as a correspondent across all platforms.
