Waiting For A NY Daily News Correction…

CBS insiders are amused today that the New York Daily News’ gossip mavens, Rush & Molloy, still can’t get it right.

On Monday, they got just about every easily verified fact wrong in an item about CBS News’ management structure. (Here’s the fact-checking.)

Today, they completely failed to address their mistakes in a second try. Their short item addresses an insider’s claim of bad blood between Katie Couric and Steve Friedman, quoting a spokesperson as saying that “Katie and Steve have a great relationship.” But it doesn’t correct any of yesterday’s errors.

Yesterday, I said the paper should hire a fact-checkers. But maybe they need more than that — how about a crash course in journalism 101?
