What’s The “Situation?”

Over the weekend, an MSNBC viewer suggested that the promos for “The Situation With Tucker Carlson” remind him of ESPN’s “Pardon The Interruption.”TVNewser’s report led to this e-mail from an MSNBC insider who isn’t convinced the show is ready for primetime:

“The ‘Situation’ is not merely similar to ‘Pardon The Interruption’ but parts of it are a direct ripoff. This worries a lot of us, because the 93 other ripoffs of PTI have failed. Besides which, they showed us clips of the pilot at an MSNBC town hall, and Tucker doesn’t do it all that well. Also, they haven’t cast his foil or foils yet. The show debuts in two weeks. Oops.
