With Abdul On and Leno Out, Nightline Wins Late Night
ABC’s Nightline outperformed both NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman in the Nielsen overnight metered markets last night. Nightline had a 3.7 HH rating, while Leno had a 3.1 and Letterman had a 2.7.
In younger viewers (A25-54) Nightline had a 1.8 to Leno’s 1.4 and Letterman’s 1.2.
Nightline’s Cynthia McFadden interviewed American Idol judge Paula Abdul while Jay Leno canceled his taping yesterday after he checked himself into the hospital.
