“World News America This Morning”

americathismorning.jpgABC is renaming its early morning newscast. Starting Nov. 13, “World News This Morning” will become “America This Morning,” David Westin announced today.

Westin says: “When the broadcast first debuted more than two decades ago it was, in many ways, an extension of ‘World News,’ providing a wrap-up of the previous day’s top stories. As news gathering and viewing habits have evolved, the program has established itself as a leader in early morning news, providing a strong lead-in to affiliates’ early newscasts and ‘Good Morning America.’ The new title will more accurately reflect the position and purpose of this broadcast – to present a first look at the day’s national, international, and business news.”

> Also: The show will add a new segment, “Tech Bytes,” on Monday…
