Zucker Tells NBC Newsers: “There Will Likely Be Layoffs”

Only on TVNewser: Jeff Zucker and Steve Capus spoke to NBC News employees at 30 Rock today. Zucker addressed NBC’s budget crunch, and said the “rebuilding” in prirmetime is causing the company to pinch the bottom line in other divisions.

“I’m not going to BS you — there will likely be layoffs,” Zucker said, according to an insider. “Hopefully most will be voluntary, but some people may have to be let go.”

Of course, employees are dismayed by the news. As they juggle several huge news stories, they face layoffs and cutbacks in every corner of the division.
