Football fans, heads up: social media is the next NFL draft expert.
Turn off ESPN, ignore NFL.com, and dial your radio to another channel. All you need is Twitter to accurately predict what’s going to go down starting tonight during the 2013 NFL draft.
Online marketing company iProspect tracked NFL draft mentions on Facebook, Twitter, blogs, message boards and comment threads from March 25-April 7, 2013 to track trends and determine public opinion about which players will be drafted to which football teams.
What was the motivation for doing that? Turns out, in 2012, social media chatter about the NFL draft was surprisingly accurate.
Want to see if the pulse iProspect tapped is once again on the money? The 2013 NFL Draft first round takes place tonight, Thursday, April 25, at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Rounds 4-7 will be held Saturday, April 27 at 12 p.m. ET.
