Have you heard of A.J. Clemente? If you haven’t yet, you will! This novice news anchor is making a name for himself on Twitter and (now) on TV, but not because he’s an ace reporter.
His on-air debute as a news anchor included a swearing slip-up of epic proportions.
It was Clemente’s first day on the job and he was nervous:
And, apparently, psychic:
After that debacle, he tweeted this in despair:
Then the next day he was fired, poor guy:
And the news station shared this announcement about A.J. on its Facebook page:
But something funny happened on the way to the unemployment line. People started to share the story and come to A.J.’s defense:
And that attention snowballed, shooting his Twitter following account from almost nothing to 14k and growing – and appearances on the Today Show, The Late Show and many others:
