Twitter wants to be more relevant to you. And in order to do so, they’ve started providing users with tailored suggestions of who to follow, rather than just a list of some of the most popular account.
Since not everyone loves Justin Bieber, this move should make searching for new, relevant accounts to follow a more pleasant experience for the average user, and Twitter’s hoping it increases the number of new users who stick around past the signup process.

Following Yahoo and AOL’s lead (and Google’s quasi-lead), Twitter confirmed a Federal Trade Commission announcement that it will honor Do Not Track notifications. In doing so, Twitter has taken a big step toward helping users take control of what information is shared about them – and about their activity – online.

Twitter is taking a keen interest in the 1.1 billion potential tweeters living in India. The company has recently expanded its local trending topic city list to include five additional Indian cities, shortly after making Twitter.com available in Hindi.

As we reported in January, Twitter’s Translation Center has been hard at work porting right-to-left languages to the platform, and over on the official blog they’ve now announced that Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu are now available on the network.
This brings the total number of languages supported on Twitter.com to an impressive 28.
