Pay It Forward Friday
As you give thanks this week and in the weeks that follow, you may feel the holiday spirit take over and your thoughts may turn to helping others.
And if so, Twitter offers lots of resources to help you track down worthy causes.
Have you heard of the DSTRESS Line? It’s “a 24/7, anonymous phone and chat counseling service” for Marines.
If you know a Marine or his/her family, make sure they know about this line in case they need help! Don’t wait to tell them about it, because many folks in need of help may be too proud to show it or ask for assistance.
And that’s why this line is anonymous.
Childhood obesity – and obesity in general – is a huge problem in the U.S. There are many reasons for this epidemic, one being the fact that parents just don’t know how to cook healthy meals.
Hip4Kids wants to change that – because isn’t nutritional literacy just as important as learning to read, really?
You’ve likely read about App.net at this point and maybe you’re unclear as to whether it will revolutionize everything online or if it will fail miserably.
Well, we don’t have an answer for you.
One thing we do know for certain though since App.net reached it’s 500k Kickstarter goal – there are a LOT of people who have $50 (the one-year membership fee). And @IHave50Dollars is joyously ridiculing each and every one of them.
But that’s not all, it’s also supporting something VERY worthwhile. Check it out.
