2012 was a huge year for social media. Facebook’s IPO and Instagram buyout dominated the headlines. Twitter is now everywhere, and celebrated the tail-end of the year by reaching 200 million active users. LinkedIn has strengthened its position as the premier business social network while shaking off Facebook’s share price nightmare to continue to trade near its stock peak. And Pinterest had one of the best twelve months of any social network, ever.
But which of these social behemoths experienced a year that they’re never going to forget?
