Hurricane Sandy’s effects are still being felt along the East Coast of the United States, with many people turning to Twitter for updates during the storm’s peak.
And despite the many good Samaritans who provided support, updates and help in 140-characters, the top Twitter news story to come out of the storm this week is probably the Twitter troll who misled thousands with his deceptive tweets.

The City of New York is bringing criminal charges against a key member of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and as part of its case it has subpoenaed Twitter for more than 3 months of his communication.
Twitter Island exists, and its topography is unlike anything we’ve seen. It has peaks and valleys, and a massive, pointy mountain smack dab in the middle.
One might guess that San Francisco is home to the most Twitter users, being the birthplace of the company. Or maybe Tokyo, Japan, a hugely populated city where Twitter is perhaps the second-most-recognized brand.
