Friends, Family Have Far More Social Clout Than Obama, Celebrities, Says Study [INFOGRAPHIC]

A lot has been written about the importance of influence in social media, with platforms such as Klout, Kred and Peerindex each competing to rank the folks with the most impressive level of swagger across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and the other major social platforms.

President Barack Obama is generally accepted as the individual person with the most online swing, and a recent poll supported that view, with 50 percent of respondents rating the President as the most influential person in social media, ahead of Justin Bieber (38 percent) and Lady Gaga (35 percent).

But even the President’s numbers pale into comparison to the people closest to us, with 95 percent of respondents citing friends as their most trusted social influencers.
