Brazil ranks second amongst all countries worldwide with the most active Twitter accounts, with one estimation putting this as high as 40-50 million users - about a third of the size of the top-placed U.S. São Paulo ranks fourth amongst all cities by total number of posted tweets.
In December, Twitter opened its first office in Brazil, looking to better support local partners and users. Last week, the official launch of Twitter in Brazil took place, with clients and executives coming together to celebrate the news.
The Twitter blog tells us that the flock has found a new home in downtown San Francisco, calling their new abode their “new nest.”
But by our standards, there’s nothing small, cozy or plain about this tony new address – nothing to make it seem very nest-like, so we’re calling it Twitter’s new aviary. We think you’ll agree.
Twitter has purportedly chosen Berlin as the location of its German headquarters and has already hired its first German head of staff and other employees, reports Focus magazine.
Back in January, Twitter chairman Jack Dorsey announced that the company had plans to expand into Germany, but Twitter’s selection, while officially unconfirmed, has come as some surprise, with Hamburg and Munich, the two cities where Google, Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft have their local headquarters, typically favoured over the German capital.
