Yahoo! Partners with Twitter for a More Social Experience

Yahoo! made an announcement today that will see Twitter integration across a large portion of its web properties. This means that Yahoo! users can more easily send Tweets and interact with their followers without having to leave Yahoo!.

The majority of the Twitter-enabled features on Yahoo! will revolve around Yahoo! Messenger Beta, a new messaging service unveiled today at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.

This revamped Messenger service is oriented towards being more social in nature than Yahoo!’s previous messenger, and part of this increased sociability is its integration with Twitter and other social networks.

Yahoo! Messenger users will now be able to Tweet and read Tweets right from within the messenger. And expanding on this, users can connect their Yahoo! and Twitter accounts globally, so they can interact with Twitter from the Yahoo! homepage, Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Pulse in addition to Yahoo! Messenger.

Yahoo! also announced similar functionality for Flickr, Facebook and integration with several social games companies, including Zynga and OMGPOP.
