Alice DuBois Takes New York Times Buyout

Alice DuBois is the latest New York Times editor to accept a buyout offer. DuBois is leaving the paper to join BuzzFeed as product lead, editorial tools.

DuBois had been with the Times since 2000. She most recently served as editor for special projects and development, a role she took on in 2009.

In a memo obtained by Politico, Fiona Spruill, editor of emerging platforms, wrote, ”Alice is one of those unique individuals who has a ton of editorial smarts, a great design sense AND a deep understanding of and respect for technology.”
