When Condé Nast moves into 1 World Trade Center in 2013, the building will be one of the most earth-friendly and technologically advanced buildings in the world. Of course, that’s according to Port Authority, which owns the building, but FishbowlNY still believes them. This is Condé Nast we’re talking about here. That company would only move into the best of the best.
Wired says that Port Authority has pledged ”next generation of innovative energy sources, such as cogeneration and fuel cells, as well as off-site renewable wind and hydro power,” for 1 WTC. There will also be “highly advanced state-of-the-art life-safety systems that exceed the requirements of the New York City Building Code.”
And one final, purely cosmetic touch: The antenna that will sit on top will make 1 WTC the tallest building in New York, at 1,776 feet.
We know. We’re still awaiting word on what the cafeteria will be like too.
