New York Launches Dating Website

New York magazine and the online dating site HowAboutWe have partnered to launch a new dating website, housed within New York’s site. The new venture, viewable at nymag.howaboutwe.com, combines the hipness of New York with the upcomer HowAboutWe, a site where single people suggest date ideas.

Business Insider reports that the site will be promoted heavily by the magazine, and revenue between the two brands will be split evenly.

Serena Torrey, New York’s Executive Director of Business Development, explained that before launching this new site, the magazine’s personals section represented an opportunity wasted.

Now with the site off the ground, this seems like a win for both parties. For New York it gives them the chance to increase revenue and for HowAboutWe, it attaches the site to a hip brand.
