Time Warner Mulling Headquarters Move

Time Warner Inc. is considering moving from its comfy digs in Columbus Circle for the Hudson Yards.  The Related Companies – which is trying to kick start development there – is hoping to lure Time Warner to Hudson Yards by touting the savings the media giant would experience with the move.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Time Warner’s CEO Jeff Bewkes doesn’t have any special attachment to the Columbus Circle space, and selling it would bring a huge profit.

The savings and profit gained better be huge, because a move to Hudson Yards would be quite the change for Time Warner. Eventually the area might be something to behold, but right now it’s pretty gross and barren. Think Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, only with a ton of parking lots and no Tina Turner.

Of course once it starts to develop, real estate agents will have to make up some stupid neighborhood name to make it sound cool. Some of FishbowlNY’s ideas: Hudson Warner, The Yards, or maybe even HudTimWarYa.
